New park on the channel
A partnership like this one you just can’t beat. This community’s three (yes, three!) Kiwanis clubs recently joined forces with the City of Anacortes to create a beautiful waterfront park adjacent to the Guemes Ferry Landing. It was a great place to get away from it all years ago when our kids were small. Now, however, it’s even better. Gone are the blackberry bushes, and in their place are winding walkways, landscaping, benches and picnic tables. Local Kiwanians share a long-standing tradition regarding the “front end” of the expression “service club.”
