Tesoro to change name August 1

Tesoro announced yesterday (June 1) that it has acquired another company, Western Refining, and that Tesoro will change its name to “Andeavor” effective August 1. The purchase of Western Refining adds assets including three refineries. In a statement, Tesoro President and CEO said, “…we now have 1.1 million barrels of refining capacity, 13,000 employees, more than 3,000 retail locations, an extensive logistics system, a track record of performance, and a solid platform of growth for years to come.” (Click on the photo to link to a Tesoro video regarding the acquisition and name change.
