Tesoro today “Andeavor”

Published August 1, 2017 / by Steve Berentson

Tesoro today became “Andeavor.” The purchase of Western Refining by the San Antonio-based corporation adds assets including three refineries. In a recent statement, Tesoro President and CEO said, “…we now have 1.1 million barrels of refining capacity, 13,000 employees, more than 3,000 retail locations, an extensive logistics system, a track record of performance, and a solid platform of growth for years to come.” The company reports that local refinery operations and working relationships will continue unchanged. Signage transitions will take some time. For details see http://www.andeavor.com.

About Steve Berentson
A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
