Osprey days
Ospreys, otherwise known as “seahawks,” are making themselves known all over the city these days. My sightings within the past week have been at Ship Harbor, Cap Sante Marina and AHS Memorial Plaza overlooking the stadium. An amazing, beatiful bird with a distinctive call.
Sunny day scenes from Rosario
What a joy it is to live just a few minutes away from island gems such as this: Rosario Beach. On this hike I encountered a couple visiting from Seattle and a young man scoping the area for fishing spots. A few folks stopped to take a view seat on the trail to Bowman Bay.
Legion hosts Memorial Day event
About three dozen people gathered Monday, May 29 at Grand View Cemetery for a program in honor of Memorial Day. The morning event was led by American Legion officer Wally Garland, an Army veteran. Marina activity level grows
Seasonal welcome banners are up at Cap Sante Marina, where the year-round level of activity grows to a peak. Saturday brought hundreds to the marina and Seafarers’ Memorial Park next door for the annual “Small Boat Messabout.”
Changes at iconic lake store
The clock ticks down on re-opening of the iconic store at Lake Erie. The former Lake Erie Grocery has become Lake Erie Coffee & Mercantile. In addition to changes in the business, improvements have been made to the lakeside resort area. For details from Facebook, Click here.
