Day Two at Waterfront Festival

It promises to be another exciting day at the 2017 Anacortes Waterfront Festival! This free festival at Cap Sante Marina opens at 10 a.m., running until 5 p.m. with dozens of activity options ranging from live music on the main stage to a stroll through aisles of vendors and education exhibits. Hundreds have scored already on the Anacortes Yacht Club invitation to take a free boat ride. Scheduled on Main Stage today are A’Town Big Band (11:15); Hamilton & Cox (12:40); Mark Riley Trio (2:25) and Old Town Tonic (3:55). Lots of food, free boat building for kids (Thanks, Rotary!), and lots, lots more!

About Photographer Steve Berentson

A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
