Anacortes brewmaster
Allen Rhoades of Anacortes Brewery mixes a batch in this February 2009 photo at the Commercial Avenue business. Rhoades is co-owner of Rockfish Restaurant as well, as serves as Chairman of the Washington Brewers Commission (WBC). He also is an instructor at the Mount Vernon campus of Skagit Valley College.

Lady Washington, early Nineties
This image of the Lady Washington entering Anacortes was taken in April 1991, a transparency later digitized. I applied oil painting effect in Photoshop. The Lady still draws me out for photos any time I spot her in local waters.
A decade since NW Career & Tech Academy built

Shoreline before cleanup 2004
A 2004 scene from the shoreline of Fidalgo Bay in downtown Anacortes. This shoreline, including beach and uplands, was restored in a public/private cleanup partnership led by the Port of Anacortes.
Re-opening of Seafarers’ Park 2011
It was May 2011 when the Port of Anacortes celebrated completion of an environmental cleanup and re-opening of Seafarers’ Memorial Park on the shoreline of Fidalgo Bay. A picture perfect afternoon. This park remains one of this seaside community’s prized public assets.
Rare sighting
On my many trips to and from Whidbey Island over the years, I have only seen an eagle on this Fidalgo Island snag on two or three occasions. On this day in 2013 I was fortunate to find a parking spot and get to Canoe Pass Bridge in time to take a few shots.
