It was a busy day on the waters surrounding Fidalgo Island Sunday. I positioned myself on the rocks at the end of 5th Street at Cap Sante for the departure of the Lady Washington on a three-hour excursion. This photograph pictures just a few of the dozens of boats that passed as I waited. At one point as the Lady Washington passed in front of the Tesoro refinery, kayakers glided by just a few feet in front of me on their way back to Cap Sante Marina. Another group of kayakers had left the harbor behind the Lady Washington, but they stayed in the waters of Fidalgo Bay.
