In the shadow of Martin Luther King Day, members of the African Gospel Acappella singing group based in Vancouver, Washington sang and worshiped Sunday at Anacortes Lutheran Church. The six men, who met at a school for the blind in their native country of Liberia, have been singing together for 12 years. Their ministry includes construction of a resource center for the blind in Monrovia, Liberia’s capitol city. The inside jacket cover of one of their CDs reads in part: “We dedicate our lives, this CD and our entire ministry to Jesus Christ the King of Kings. We want to remember our friends and family in Liberia. We have not forgotten you or the suffering of the people. Our roots (are) what created this music and this is a gift from the almighty God.
