Students at Anacortes High School were treated to the first wave of jazz music to hit Anacortes on Day One of a three-day festival. Pictured here is Seattle resident Floyd Standifer, whose roots in jazz trace back to gigs with the likes of Ray Charles and Quincy Jones. The retired school teacher performed at Brodniak Hall with other musicians including world-renowned jazz singer Dee Daniels. The festival officially kicked off Friday night with a gala dinner at the Port of Anacortes warehouse. See www.anacortes.org for details about the festival.
