It was a “battle” of the Christmas variety yesterday when members of three service clubs in Anacortes stationed themselves at Salvation Army “red kettles” to raise funds for the non-profit organization’s Christmas activities. Rumor has it the Soroptimist International and Rotary clubs combined raised more than $27,000, with the Soroptimists winning the “battle.” (Soroptimist total: $17,266; Rotary: $11,218).
