Piercing like an arrow

Anacortes is just one of many Puget Sound ports served by Arrow Launch, parent company of a couple of local boats including the “Brave Arrow,” pictured here this morning returning to Cap Sante Marina. According to the company website, “Arrow Launch has been moving passengers and freight to and from vessels of all types in Puget Sound and Grays Harbor, Washington since 1989. If it belongs on a ship, we’ve probably delivered it. Arrow delivers all types of material, parts and personnel to vessels calling on Washington ports. From a new anchor to fresh food – you can count on us to get the items delivered to your vessel.”

About Photographer Steve Berentson

A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
