SeaBear President Mike Mondello (left) presided over an “After Hours” Chamber of Commerce event at the company’s 18,000 sq. ft. Anacortes smokehouse Thursday evening. When the executive asked for a show of hands from those who had visited the retail shop before, most in the room obliged. Mondello noted the company’s roots in Anacortes, dating to 1957 and a small smokehouse built by founder Tom Savidge. The company known as Specialty Seafoods became SeaBear in 1996. Stop by the retail shop at 30th & T for a glimpse of company history — and a tasty sample of smoked salmon!
