Guemes scene

There wasn’t enough wind to sail into town, so this sailboat motored down the Guemes Channel Tuesday afternoon. This photograph was taken near the intersection of 5th Street and “K” Avenue.

Water project

City crews are busy replacing a pump station on the water’s edge of 5th Street on Cap Sante. This project, which will take several weeks, includes not only a new pump, but replacement of two inch lines with eight inch lines. Channel house

It’s not really a house, but “Channel structure” didn’t sound right. I love this weathered little building on the Guemes Channel, just a short walk from the intersection of 5th Street and “K” Avenue. A few yards to the west of the dock is the Puget Sound Energy cable crossing.

Moody morning

It was a moody morning Saturday, with patches of blue as dark clouds swept by. This photograph was taken from the Anacortes waterfront at 5th and K Avenue, looking toward Guemes Island.
