Anacortes Christmas past

It was Christmas 2006 when the Abominable Snowman joined some of his other Burl Ives cutout friends at a fundraiser called the Celebration of Trees. This colorful holiday event was sponsored by Island Hospital Foundation and the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce. Cutout characters including Frosty the Snowman were lent by the Burl Ives Family.

Celebration of Trees 2008

Once again this year, the Island Hospital Foundation is hosting a Celebration of Trees fundraising event. Visit the Port of Anacortes warehouse at the north end of Commercial Avenue to see beautifully decorated trees and wreaths. A live auction will be held Saturday evening.

Road to graduation

In addition to living with the stress associated with the final week of school, many Anacortes seniors made opportunities to gather for pre-commencement gatherings like this one. It’s never too early for a little bit of celebration cake!
