All over Skagit County daffodils are starting to blossom. These beauties are growing beside a pond near the Tommy Thompson Trail in Anacortes.
Visitors to Cap Sante in downtown Anacortes are greeted by a “neighborhood” of daffodils on the bluff at the top of 4th Street.

The eruption of spring colors has begun at The Depot in downtown Anacortes. In addition to tree blossoms, beautiful plants around the former train depot include crocuses and daffodils. Adjacent to Cap Sante Marina and the W.T. Preston sternwheeler on the Anacortes waterfront.
Drawing the eye on any trip through downtown Anacortes are sidewalk flower boxes filled with bright yellow daffodils. The Skagit Valley boasts acres of these pre-tulip beauties.
This beautiful bouquet of daffodils made its way into the house last week, compliments of our daughter. Tulips are now in full bloom, rhodies are starting to show color, and roses won’t be far behind.

Among Destination Downtown Anacortes projects is a campaign to place flower displays along Commercial Avenue. One such display, teeming with daffodils, stands in front of Strandberg Construction offices. A downtown Garden Fair is scheduled on May 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
