Walk over water

Downtown Anacortes has its beautiful esplanade through the public marina. Ship Harbor Interpretive Preserve near the state ferry terminal boasts this curving boardwalk, allowing walkers to enjoy the wetlands without getting wet!

Busy walkway

Pedestrian traffic grows heavier each summer day at Cap Sante Boat Haven and on the Tommy Thompson Trail. While dog and master make their way toward Seafarers’ Memorial Park, another couple stops for a photo op near an interpretive sign.

Soil remediation is over at Cap Sante Boat Haven. Now work begins in earnest on an esplanade, or walkway, along the shore. This is one of the most special spots on the island to take a walk, any season.
