It’s always exciting to reach one’s destination aboard a Washington State ferry, in this case the Evergreen State arriving at Friday Harbor.
The view from the hill just above the ferry landing at Friday Harbor. Fall is a great time to take advantage of the ferry system to cruise the San Juans. You can do that as a walk-on (two of you!) in the $23 range; plus $10 for parking.

Friday was the big day for a dramatic lift of a pilothouse onto the substructure of another Otto Candies vessel being built at Dakota Creek Industries (DCI). Note the gap between top level and supporting structure. Inch by inch, that gap slowly disappeared. Now welders can get to work.
