Longshoremen load petroleum coke
M/V Soda Phoenix from General Steamship will dock at Port of Anacortes Pier 2 until Oct. 8 to pick up about 22,000 metric tons of petroleum coke, a byproduct of the refining process at HF Sinclair refinery. Loading of pet coke from trucks to ship is handled by local longshoremen.
Another busy week for Port
Monday morning is bustling for the Port of Anacortes. On the Guemes Channel, crews load the Amber Star with petroleum coke from the Shell Refinery while the San Juan Enterprise prepares to take on a load. Cover up
From this time forward into winter, weather can be a serious challenge for dozens of people working on the Anacortes waterfront. This temporary cover was moved into place to shield a Dakota Creek Industries crew working on Port of Anacortes Pier 2.
