Here are a few front line starters in the June 13 Tesoro March Point Run 5K/10K race. Clay Wing, second from right in white, finished as overall male runner. There were 300-plus runners of all ages, with a free, half-mile kids run to start the day off.
This point at the base of Cap Sante has no name that I’m aware of, but the reality is it cannot be reached by car. The gazebo lies at the end of a pedestrian-only walkway sponsored by the Rotary Club. The path follows the contour of the north basin of Cap Sante Boat Haven.
Construction activity drew me to V Avenue on Cap Sante. Once there, the view over the Guemes Channel and Fidalgo Bay kept me in place long enough to capture this image of a boater returning to Anacortes.
This was the scene early this week from the dock between Port of Anacortes Pier 2 and the point at the north side of Cap Sante, near Randy’s Pier 61 restaurant and the former Wyman’s Marina.
