Evening sun lights up power lines along 41st Avenue in south Anacortes.
It was a long afternoon in the neighborhood as crews spent several hours replacing a power pole and lines at the intersection of “O” Avenue and King Street. Ventured out to the Penguin and to the library to gain Internet access. We are addicted to our power … hope the ice cream’s all right.
Between the draw of lingcod and the opening of the 2009 boating season, there was plenty of activity in recent days on local waters. This power boat passed under Deception Pass Bridge from Cornet Bay Sunday morning.
Again today I post a photo taken Monday morning from the bluffs of Cap Sante, this shot of a power boat returning to port as a sailboat ventures out. Water color and texture were amazing.
I captured this image of a crew working on an “M” Avenue power line (right) while I was visiting the school district office at Anacortes Middle School on Thursday. Mt. Baker was obscured by a cloud, but this is a nice view of Fidalgo Bay. On the left is the steeple at Anacortes Lutheran Church.
