Tons of rope
Crews Wednesday morning loaded an industrial sized “spool” of rope for transport to a client. Randy Arendse of Cortland Puget Sound Rope presided over the shipping activity. The Anacortes company produces high performance fiber rope for industrial applications and marine offshore oil exploration.

Channel house
It’s not really a house, but “Channel structure” didn’t sound right. I love this weathered little building on the Guemes Channel, just a short walk from the intersection of 5th Street and “K” Avenue. A few yards to the west of the dock is the Puget Sound Energy cable crossing.
