Upland homes

Although it’s difficult to appreciate property elevation from this aerial perspective, most homes in this photo boast great views. The neighborhoods, located between 12th Avenue and city forestlands, include Rock Ridge (top, center), with the highest residential elevation lots on Fidalgo Island.

Rock crawler

This was a first in my Cap Sante experiences. This gentleman was operating a remote controlled car built for rugged terrain. His little green crawler moved up and down the rocks, sometimes at what appeared to be close to a 90 degree angle.

Park restoration

Schooner Zodiac

My thanks to David Jackson, who identified this boat as the schooner Zodiac, currently on a Watercolor Cruise in the San Juans. This 1924, 160-foot schooner (127 feet on deck) takes up to 24 passengers for overnight cruises in the San Juans and Desolation Sound. She is also available for private charter.
