Elevated work
If you’re a construction project lookie-loo, 8th Street and Commercial Avenue is the place to be this week as crews scramble on scaffolding erected on the face of the New wilson Hotel. Street and sidewalk improvements are underway at the same time. See more photos in Activities section under “Hard hat zone.”

Surrounded
Despite wind and rain, the show goes on at the historic New Wilson Hotel building in downtown Anacortes. Construction crews worked high above the street on scaffolding that wraps south and east sides of the building Monday morning. The building will ultimately feature low income residential units.
