New contour

This was the scene Monday afternoon at the beach at Seafarers’ Memorial Park, located next door to Cap Sante Boat Haven. Just underway is Phase Three of the cleanup of a former Scott Paper mill site on the shore of Fidalgo Bay. Port of Anacortes officials plan a May re-opening of the public facility.

Waterfront bustling

While recreational boaters fuel up at the Port dock for a sunny summer outing, crews labor nearby on the Anthony’s Restaurant (visible on horizon, opens in January 2011) and on the neighboring environmental cleanup at the former Scott Paper Mill site. Musical tribute

He introduced himself as Scott Thomson, and told his modest Causland Park audience he was up most of the night working on the lyrics to his song.
