I don’t know the name of this plant, but its beautiful green shoot caught my eye Wednesday on a walk up the hill. Signs of spring continue to emerge, giving me hope even as weather forecasts continue to “rain on my parade.”

If you and your dog share an outing, stop by the Anne Martin McCool Gallery at 711 Commercial Avenue. You’ll both get a kick out of this colorful window display, titled “Dog Walkers,” by Audrey Roll. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Sundays by appointment.
