Floating Boat Show

Some come with serious intentions, others simply to “window shop.” Regardless, the annual Floating Boat Show at Cap Sante Marina in Anacortes is an event in keeping with the Pacific Northwest tradition. For many who live in this corner of the world, it’s all about water. Options in this community are unlimited. You can purchase a boat and rent a slip at one of several beautiful marinas. You can charter a boat and take the helm, or charter with a skipper. There are also excursion opportunities such as whale watching adventures, and there’s always the popular fish boat charter. Take advantage of our watery “playgound.” Spend some time on the water.

About Photographer Steve Berentson

A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
