Scott Milo Gallery welcomes back the Signature Members of the NW Pastel Society for their 9th show, July 3 – August 4. This year the gallery is spotlighting the work of 30 members, all of whom have won awards for their work in juried shows. “Come see 56 beautiful original pastels and consider adding them to your collection,” says Katherine Khile. “We did not have a reception with the artists due to COVID-19 Phase 2 regulations, however the gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. For customer convenience, the show is also available online. Please call or email the gallery with questions or to make a purchase. You can sign up for email updates at scottmilo.com.”

A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
