Boaters back in big numbers
It’s the water! Despite the decidedly negative impact of COVID-19 in the first half of the year, the Port of Anacortes said the number of guest boat customers at Cap Sante Marina rose dramatically in July and August. Port Director Dan Worra reported at a recent commission meeting that there were 4,084 guest boater nights in July and 4,004 in August. Last year’s numbers at the public marina were 3,884 in July and 3,764 in August. The total for 2020 through August 29 was 11,833, compared to 13,259 at the same time in 2019.
