Salish Inn aims for January opening

This is an exciting season for Jagdeep Sandhu, but not just because of the holidays. Sandhu and business partner Tarlochen Dhaliwal hope to open the 46-unit Salish Inn at 907 30th Street sometime in January 2021. Sandhu, who also owns and operates the Sunrise Inn just a few blocks away, said the new hotel will be “high end,” from furnishings to interior design. There will be with three suites with jacuzzis. A common gym and hot tub will serve all units. Sandhu built the Sunrise Inn on 20th Street in 1995, with 12 additional units in 2014. Contractor of the Salish Inn is Faber Construction.

About Photographer Steve Berentson

A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
