Jobs, revenue at Port Pier 2
A cargo ship (Milin Kamak) being loaded with petroleum coke this week at Anacortes Port District Pier 2. This pier is the most active part of the Port’s Marine Terminal. At 37 ½ feet draft, it is the Port’s deepest pier. According to the 2024 Port of Anacortes Annual Report, “Pier 2 has 14 acres of paved asphalt-cement surfacing, a stormwater management system, a 460-foot concrete frontage pier, and a stationary ship loader. Currently, the Port’s primary bulk product commodities are petroleum coke and prilled sulfur, both of which are byproducts of the refining process.” Port Executive Director Brett Greenwood reported last week that Marina Terminal businesses directly and indirectly support 992 jobs and $53 million in annual wages.
