Artist reception May 2 at Scott Milo

Join in a month of colorful, original artwork at Scott Milo Gallery. Marie Powell from Illwaco brings a collection of colorful, mixed media monoprints with florals and sea life. Also showing are new, extra large and extra small landscape oils by Lorna Libert; soft, but striking pastels by Barbara Benedetti Newton; hand colored NW etchings by Elizabeth Ockwell and new to Scott Milo Gallery, nautical oils by Gregory Gorham. Also featured is a selection of regional jewelry, glass, sculptures, custom tables.
Reception with the artists on Friday, May 2 from 6-8 p.m., in conjunction with Manieri Jazz Walk.

About Photographer Steve Berentson

A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
