Another great weekend in Anacortes, Washington! Annual Workboat Races & Pirate Faire, hosted by the Port of Anacortes.
This beautiful cockatoo was one of many “stars” in a weekend exhibition of creatures that are part of the KC Critters family. Also on stage at a company picnic in Anacortes were snakes, lizards, turtles, goats, parakeet, gator and possum.

St. Merryfest 2013 is now in the books … and what a great weekend it was for fun at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Food, rides, entertainment and ice cream!
Among those paying their respects at Grand View Cemetery on Memorial Day was Anacortes resident Bill Thatcher, who served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He is pictured here talking to Erica Pickett and Bob Hyde (also a veteran: U.S. Navy). Thatcher, who served in the European and Pacific theaters, married Anacortes resident Frances Kimsey.
It’s exciting to see crowds swarm at Cap Sante Marina in downtown Anacortes as the annual PassageMaker magazine “Trawler Fest” has located here once again. Those marina crowds inevitably spill into the surrounding retail neighborhood, providing a much needed boost to the local economy.

On that day Martin and a team of volunteers including family friend David Jackson moved the beautiful wooden boat left unfinished in a Guemes shop when Don died. The cutter was moved to Anacortes, […]
