This beautiful cockatoo was one of many “stars” in a weekend exhibition of creatures that are part of the KC Critters family. Also on stage at a company picnic in Anacortes were snakes, lizards, turtles, goats, parakeet, gator and possum.

New construction

Among new professional buildings in Anacortes are Dr. Pardeep Brar’s North Sound Oral and Facial Surgery Clinic on Commercial Avenue and Nels Strandberg’s construction headquarters on “R” Avenue. Among residential projects is this model home on 10th Street (sale pending).

Memorial Day 2013

He is pictured here talking to Erica Pickett and Bob Hyde (also a veteran: U.S. Navy). Thatcher, who served in the European and Pacific theaters, married Anacortes resident Frances Kimsey.

Trawler Fest 2013

It’s exciting to see crowds swarm at Cap Sante Marina in downtown Anacortes as the annual PassageMaker magazine “Trawler Fest” has located here once again. Those marina crowds inevitably spill into the surrounding retail neighborhood, providing a much needed boost to the local economy.
