I am saddened, here on Independence Day Eve, to come to grips with the reality that there will be no parade or related gatherings in our community this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. In an effort to ease the pain of this loss, I spent some time in AnacortesToday.com photo archives gathering photo memories of holidays gone by, with a mix starting in 2003. Look to text on each image to see the year it was taken. I hope you enjoy this brief trip down Memory Lane, evidence of one of our island community’s rich traditions.
