It was the 2005-06 school year when Anacortes High School students in Victor Garcia’s Marine Science class worked with Anacortes artist Mike Stark to create 13 panels for the Dunes Interpretive Trail at Deception Pass State Park. The panels still serve today to enlighten trail walkers regarding the beach/dunes/forest/lake ecosystem.

I don’t recall details, but I had to share these images from a music presentation at Brodniak Auditorium and February 2009. I was doing an article for the Anacortes School District “Currents” newsletter, but I couldn’t put my hands on the article for details. Beautiful clothing, instruments … and music!
Few Anacortesans had the opportunity to watch this impressive construction project as it took place off-island. A new Anacortes water treatment facility was built adjacent to the old plant at a Mount Vernon site on the Skagit River. These photos were taken in December 2011.
