Lots of snow

As evidenced from this photo at the center of Deception Pass Bridge Sunday, there has been plenty of snowfall on Mt. Baker and foothills this winter.

“Growler” air crew from Whidbey Island Naval Air Station on an overcast January afternoon. This crew’s primary mission is electronic attack. According to the U.S. Navy, “the EA-18G’s vast array of sensors and weapons provides the warfighter with a lethal and survivable weapon system to counter current and emerging threats.”

I almost missed this cute pup, all bundled up and ready for a ride on the Chamber-sponsored horse-drawn trolley today in downtown Anacortes.

Seahawks claim win

The 12th Man flag flew proudly at Frontier Ford in Anacortes Sunday. The Seahawks got off to a slow start but ultimately got the job done, defeating the 49ers 24-13. From this point the competition only gets tougher.

Progress continues on school project

In February 2015, our community voted to support the school district’s bond measure to build a new high school. This project includes a new stadium (complete), Veterans Memorial (complete), expanded classroom space, updated science labs, new library and commons, and a renovated gym and auditorium.
