Once common scene now rare

I love this nod to days gone by. Dunlap Towing tug “Vulcan” pulling logs through Deception Pass in May 2006. In the backround is Pass Island and steep bluffs of Fidalgo Island.

Bowman Bay Trail: 2020

I was photographing images on Bowman Bay in August 2020 when I spotted color on the trail above. This is a popular trail connecting Rosario and Bowman bays on Fidalgo Island.

Built in Anacortes

The Tan’erliq, built by Dakota Creek Industries in 1999, is outfitted for tanker escort services, ship handling and firefighting, as well as emergency and spill response. These photos were taken in August 2019 and January 2023.

Island Explorer 4: March 2015

I love this 2015 photo I took of the Island Explorer 4 whale watching boat from a vantage point on the edge of Cap Sante. This boat was replaced by the custom designed IE5 in May 2017. For details about the vessels and the 2023 season, click here.
