Papa Murphy’s honors those in uniform

In addition to offering an inexpensive meal for guests, Jeff D’Angelo of Papa Murphy’s in Anacortes provided free pizza to anyone in uniform at Saturday’s emergency response/preparedness fair at the National Guard Armory. Pictured here are pizza peddlers Chris and Heather (store manager). The free fair was a great first-year event, especially for children.

Published last week was the Port of Anacortes Pictorial, an annual publication highlighting activities and achievements of the previous year; calendar of events for the coming year. I was privileged once again to work with the Port team in preparation of this annual report.

Celebrated World War II veteran Buck Compton died Saturday, February 24 at his Burlington home, surrounded by family. Compton is pictured here at a 2005 Veterans Day event held at Causland Park in Anacortes.
