Chamber members gathered for an after-hours party Thursday at Gere-a-Deli. Among activities at the event was a drawing for door prizes. Co-conspirators took the opportunity to wrap Chamber Director Michael Broome in a T-shirt promoting the historic arch to be constructed on Commercial Avenue. Pictured to the left are Gere-a-Deli owner Laurie Gere and her son Phil, who manages the popular restaurant and catering business. Gere said she sponsored the after-hours event as a celebration of the renovation project she completed earlier this year. Among new features are a steel and glass exterior awning, new windows and flooring. Gere-a-Deli is coming up on its 23rd anniversary.
