I’d say “Our arch is better than their arch,” but ours is still in the fund-raising stage. I stopped in Long Beach for the night last Friday and took advantage of this “photo op” to illustrate how tourists are going to respond once we get our arch up on Commercial Avenue. My lovely and talented mom took the photo. Destination Downtown Anacortes (DDA) is operating with a schedule that calls for the arch to be built in the Spring of 2005. The arch will span Commercial Avenue at the North Corner of 11th Street, “announcing” the historic downtown area to residents and visitors alike.
