U.S. Marine 1st Lt. Mike Berentson (left) was on the receiving end of a welcome home party hosted by his mom and dad, Susan and Dan Berentson yesterday in Burlington. Mike, who returned recently from a tour in Afghanistan, posed for this photo with grandfather Duane Berentson. Duane, who was born and raised in Anacortes, later taught school and served for 18 years as a state representative from Burlington. He and wife Joanne are now retired, splitting their time between Burlington and Arizona. Mike, who is stationed in Hawaii, will now take a well deserved break that includes a trip to South America. It was great to see Mike home again for a visit!
