A featured element of Saturday night’s Youth Dynamics ministry event was entertainment by members of a local improv comedy group. As more than 250 dessert banquet guests watched on, three comedians and an unsuspecting young “inductee” sang an impromptu tribute to youth leader Chantel Pemberton, wife of Anacortes YD Director Joel Pemberton. Members of the comic quartet include (r. to l.) Martin Iverson, Brian Geer, a member of the AHS Jazz Choir and Craig Clark. YD, established in Anacortes 36 years ago, states as its mission: “To invite and challenge youth to a lifelong journey in relationship with Christ and His church.” The non-denominational organization encourages young people to grow in faith through worship, study and fellowship in the church of their choice.
