Italian alfresco

Bellissima Trattoria owners Julianne, Marianne and Chef Andy now invite you to enjoy Italian food alfresco (that’s outdoors) at 904 Commercial Avenue. Andy and his staff produce many of the favorites from the former Bella Isola, which he and Julianne operated downtown for almost 10 years. Not pictured is partner Tyler Mach. Restaurant menu items at Bellissima Trattoria range from hand-made pastas to steak, chops and pizza. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. For information or reservations, call 293-1362. Oh, yes … if you choose to, you may take your meal in the beautiful indoor dining room.

About Photographer Steve Berentson

A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
