Monday, January 9, marked the opening of Island Hospital’s new Medical Arts Pavilion (MAP). This photograph was taken at the top of the stairs, just inside the 26th Street entrance to the Merle Cancer Care Center. The public is invited to an open-house celebration on Tuesday, January 24, at 1015 25th Street. The event starts with a ribbon-cutting at 5:15 p.m. with doors opening 5:30 p.m. The open house features food, refreshments and tours with respective professional staff on hand to answer questions of those in attendance. The 26,000 sq. ft. MAP is located on the east side of the Island Hospital campus and houses the new Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center as well as expanded Merle Cancer Care Center and Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy center.
