Kudos to the Anacortes Walgreens store for gracious contributions to the community during this Christmas season. Pictured here are Santa and Mrs. Claus posing with children as the store hosted the “Battle of the Bells” competition outside in the parking lot. This competition pitted local service organizations against each other as they rang the bells and gathered “red kettle” donations for the Anacortes Corps of the Salvation Army. All proceeds to this campaign remain in the community for a range of services including a food bank. Walgreens also offered a two-for-one toy purchase when one of the toys was donated to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign. Thank you, Walgreens, one of this community’s shining Christmas stars!
