It was only a matter of time. After all, Dean Maxwell holds the distinction of being the longest-serving mayor in Anacortes history! My thanks to Art Shotwell, who shared this photo he took Monday evening at the unveiling of a new Bill Mitchell mural honoring Maxwell. The inset photo is Bill the artist. Appropriate is the inclusion of a refurbished mural of the late Jim Rice (left), who served as mayor in a critical season following a change of government from the council/manager model to full-time mayor.
