Medical Center entrance closed

Those coming to the Island Medical Center (IMC) adjacent to Island Hospital will need to use the hospital’s main 24th Street entrance due to construction that began June 9. The construction project will improve the main entry to IMC and nearby parking areas.  IMC is located at 1213 24th St. and will affect access to the following services: Family Pharmacy; Fidalgo Medical Associates; Island Eye Physicians & Surgeons; Island Surgeons; Maternal & Infant Care; Skagit Regional Clinics-Urology. Also affected may be access to IH departments located in the lower level of the IMC including human resources, information systems, patient accounts and conference rooms. For information, call the Island Hospital community relations department at 299-1310.

About Photographer Steve Berentson

A fourth generation Skagit County native who was moved kicking and screaming from this island community in 1960. I finally reclaimed an Anacortes address in 1980, and I have been in constant celebration of my return since that time. Many of us who call Anacortes home love Fidalgo Island for its natural assets: among them are rugged beaches, pristine lakes, thousands of acres of forestland and some awesome views of the Skagit Valley and surrounding islands. Another element of my love affair with this community is its people, both natives and immigrants. They will “star” in many of my journal entries.
