One of two featured speakers today at the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon was Skagit Valley College President Dr. Thomas Keegan, who was joined by SVC Board Chair Kathryn Bennett. Keegan, an SVC alum, noted that the college has 1,400 employees at six sites including Mount Vernon, Anacortes and Oak Harbor. The president reported the pending graduation of the first SVC class to earn a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Environmental Conservation. Also in the works are bachelor degree programs in Applied Management and Early Childhood Education. The luncheon was sponsored by Tesoro Refinery, represented by External Affairs Manager Matt Gill.
