Sailboats often catch my eye as I drive around this waterfront city. I photographed this model boat in bright Sunday morning light on a walk through the downtown area. Visit Adrift Restaurant to see this vessel, and more like it, on display in Commercial Avenue windows.
It’s good news, bad news for Adrift Restaurant patrons. The popular downtown restaurant is undergoing interior and exterior renovations, which means a brief break from the dining routine. Project elements include a bigger walk-in, a new walk-in freezer, more counter space in the kitchen, new cork floors and ceiling fans.
This hand-crafted model of the Schooner Bluenose stands proudly in a window of the Adrift restaurant downtown. The Bluenose was a commercial fishing vessel that gained renown as the fastest ship on the East Coast. The Bluenose II was launched in 1964.
Only a few days remain for seasonal window displays such as this one at Adrift restaurant. I love the sailboats in Adrift’s windows … and the good news is they will still be there long after the Christmas ornaments have been tucked away until next winter.
Monday morning sun in the alley next to the Adrift Restaurant drew me to this spot underneath an old emergency exit. I liked the combination of color and shadow patterns.
