Altair-Americus Memorial Park: 1991
Sunday, February 14 marks 38 years since the tragic loss of Anacortes-based crab fishing boats “Altair” and “Americus” and their 14 crewmembers in a Bering Sea storm. Memorial to lost
Among several Anacortes memorials to fishermen lost at sea is this plaque in a small park area next door to the W.T. Preston. It will be 28 years Monday since the vessels Altair and Americus and all crew members were lost at sea.
