I took the hint Monday night, headed for the west side of the island tonight. Morning or evening light — this island is an incredible place to call home.
In the cool and dark of an Anacortes forest, Spring light shoots through the trees to illuminate and incubate new growth.
A hike on a neighborhood trail today yielded new images for my forest “gallery.” Mushrooms, wildflowers, ferns. I heard a couple of woodpeckers, but did not see them. An owl, too. Again, unseen. Spring sun, rising temperatures are bringing beautiful changes each day.
Work continues on the SHIP roundabout, Oakes Avenue. This window shot was taken on the way from Ship Harbor heading back to the downtown area.
What a wonderful adventure! My solo walk at Ship Harbor turned into a hike to wetlands, those exposed on the shoreline and those tucked away near the state ferry terminal.
